Coffee in New York

We took a trip to New York City and experienced coffee wherever we could!  I will share some of our favorite finds....

Cafe Grumpy was simply amazing - not only was it a quaint, fun atmosphere, it served up an amazing cup of coffee.  When our "heartbreaker" blend was gone - we hopped on the website and ordered more!  They use it in house as their expresso blend - we drank it as a cup of coffee!  Amazing - green apple, caramel, hazelnut, and honeysuckle flavors combine to make a rare, amazing, full-bodied cup of coffee.

Caffe bene is another find in New York City!  It is a gorgeous shop inside and provides and warm, inviting place to stop and enjoy a cup of coffee.  The flavors didn't "jump" at us, but all in all, it was a good cup of coffee.

Aroma Expresso Bar was a spot we actually wanted to visit more than once.  We had an amazing latte with chocolate on top and inside - I mean a solid chunk of chocolate that was warmed slightly and melts in your coffee.  It was HEAVENLY!  We also brought these beans home and plan to order more - this is a full-bodied coffee with such a strong, amazing flavor.

FIKA roasts and brews coffee the Swedish way - in their words - Our espresso and brewed coffee is made from 100% Arabica beans, sourced from all over the world. The beans are roasted locally on Staten Island, according to a traditional Swedish method which produces a bold, yet smooth cup without any bitterness. Our goal is simple - to get you as excited about coffee as we are.

Here is another that we brought home, it's almost gone, and I AM ordering more from their site.  It is smooth - not bitter - if this is what Swedish coffee is, I'm moving!

Here was another fun stop on our coffee journeys.  We brought the House Blend home and it was an amazing cup of coffee.  This one boasts:
Chocolate, Red Fruit & Composed

Cherries and plums lead and chocolate follows in this supremely balanced cup.

The Winter Cheer was a mix that was added to expresso - it was a cold drink that was full of flavor - like nothing we've had before.  Thick  - think cider meets coffee - very good!

Underline Coffee was a fun shop we found while walking on the High Line.  At this spot, I drank an amazing cup of tea!  Simply tea at it's best!

I didn't get any pictures of Toby's Estate but I would be remiss if I didn't mention them.  The coffee was bold and flavorful.  It is another that we order online just to get that taste in our home again!   DO NOT miss their espresso blends - these are so amazing we drink them as coffee!
